In Focus : Corrupt Justice - A Wilson Doughty production
Published on Fri Oct 31, 2008 6:50 am

Michael Morris – In Focus

For years now I have explained over and over again why I see Judge Frank Wilson and local attorney Robert Doughty are cancers on the community. Today I think I can make this so entirely clear that anyone with a pulse will understand what sort of enemies of the people these two are. Recently I became aware of a case traversing the courts that is being run so far from the law that it needs to take precedence over even my actual business. For the moment I will not name the victim of this conspiracy to subvert justice as it would serve no purpose. The issues here, while tangentially related to this attempt to deny any semblance of due process, are not the matters that actually make this case farce and kangaroo.

In Focus : Throw a shrimp on the Barbie, the roos are holding Court

Michael Morris – In Focus

I think the only thing more embarrassing than living in the middle of a wholly inept and corrupt legal system is living in the middle of a wholly inept and corrupt legal system too lacking in cerebral resources so as to cover their tracks. In the recent case of Alberto Lueras the corrupt exploited the inept in order to distort our system of laws to a degree that renders laws as we typically understand them, meaningless. Instead of a rope and a tree the clowns and the psychopaths came together in a kangaroo court so transparent subversion of everything we depend on to survive as a free society could be its only goal. You may choose to see Mr. Lueras as a monster, but the law sees him as a citizen, a fourteenth amendment citizen if you will, the same as you. What you visit upon him is the standard to which you are subject.

In Focus : 12th District Judicial Nominating Commission takes the easy route

Michael Morris – In Focus

I have to tell you that I was so entirely underwhelmed by the list of applicants for the job of placeholder District Judge to fill the remaining term of the retiring Frank Wilson that the prospect of tying a tie and walking up a flight of stairs to watch an uninspiring local commission component do exactly as I expected, the easy thing, proved too great. The news of the predictable came in a text message from a friend. In sending Bill Brogan, Mario Torrez and our perennial favorite Sandra Grisham to our even better friend Bill Richardson the commission gave the Governor a wide range of options ranging from the right thing to something hopeful of the use of petroleum products first. Let’s have a look, shall we?

In Focus : People for Aerospace-Otero - Who are they?
Published on Mon Sep 22, 2008 5:00 am

Michael Morris – In Focus

Many of you in Otero County received a slick and upscale brochure extolling the virtues of the hotly debated GRT to help finance Spaceport America last week. The sponsor of this seems to be a PAC calling itself People for Aerospace-Otero. I have been asked by a few readers if I know anything about this operation. In response I will offer what I could find on short notice. What I found ought to have Otero County Republicans stroking out all across the county. Can I have a little fun before I get to the good stuff?
