Well, 2002 is drawing to a close and it’s almost time to be held accountable for all the goodies we’ve consumed over the past six weeks. I refuse to accept defeat, however, and want to go out with a BANG, not a whimper! In honor of gastronomic excess, I have assembled a group of recipes that represent the most caloric, gooiest, yummiest, most decadent and delightful treats I could find. To paraphrase Scarlett, “I’ll worry about it tomorrow”!

I have to admit, I love cookies! You can eat them for snacks, you can eat them on the run, you can eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ultimate portable food! The only problem with cookies, at least with kids in the house, is that they disappear before they cool and you have to make more. A few minutes of preparation could turn into a whole day bake-a-thon! And the variety! There are shaped cookies, healthy cookies, fattening cookies, dipping cookies, the list goes on and on.
